Looking to get digital with Les Labs? Here’s someone you should know – check out our Q&A series with a valued member of the Labs community and see why our amazing instructors, students, and team members choose to #learnwithlabs.
SF: First off, wishing you a huge welcome to the Labs Q&A series! First time here? Introduce yourself please!
PG: Hi everyone. I’m Pamela, proud student at Les Labs. I’ve worked in many different environments, including a PBS station in Seattle, WA followed by a news radio station in Boston, MA. Both jobs involved writing, which I love. Still, my creative itch still needed scratching so I decamped to the Big Apple, where I did a Masters at NYU in Fashion History. After teaching for a few years, I decided to return to my native Montreal. Here I’ve taught and most recently do freelance visual research for documentary film and TV.
SF: One fun fact about you: go!
PG: I’ve been a ‘junior knitter’ for over 10 years. Someday I plan on being very, very good.
SF: What inspired you to join Les Labs and to study all things digital?
PG: I’ve written my own blog posts, blogged and done basic social media for others; I even struggled to create my own website from scratch. Still, I never felt comfortable using these experiences as a selling point on my CV, as I felt shaky on so many of the basics. I wanted to get a solid grasp on social media, SEO and all things digital and Les Labs class seemed like the perfect introduction, packed with info on all the things I’ve wanted to improve on, without being too heavy duty!
SF: Very cool. What are you hoping to achieve with the course at Les Labs?
PG: All of the above + hopefully even a little more!
